Comer Blasts Democrats for Introducing Reckless Amnesty Legislation

WASHINGTON—Today, House Committee on Oversight and Reform Ranking Member James Comer (R-Ky.) released the following statement on the Congressional Democrats’ bill backed by President Biden to provide amnesty to 11 million illegal immigrants: 

“Democrats could not be more wildly out of touch with America’s needs. At a time when millions of Americans are unemployed and struggling, Democrats are putting illegal immigrants first. The Democrats’ bill grants amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants who have broken our laws and contains zero meaningful reforms to halt the national security and humanitarian crisis at the border. This is not the time to send the world the message that our laws can be violated with little consequence. We need to put Americans first, close loopholes fueling the border crisis, enforce immigration laws already on the books, and secure our border. Anything less will simply incentivize more illegal immigration and place Americans at risk.”
