Comer Statement on the Supreme Court’s Vaccine Mandate Decisions

WASHINGTON — Today, House Committee on Oversight and Reform Ranking Member James Comer (R-Ky.) released the following statement on the Supreme Court’s decisions halting President Biden’s vaccine mandate for businesses with 100 or more employees and allowing his mandate for certain federally-funded healthcare facilities to take effect.

“President Biden has failed on all accounts to ‘shut down the virus’ as promised, and his authoritarian mandates aren’t going to get us out of the pandemic. The Supreme Court’s decision to block President Biden’s vaccine mandate for private employers rightfully transfers power back to the people, but the Court should have gone further to protect healthcare workers’ medical freedom. American workers should never be forced to get the jab to keep their job, and must be empowered to make their own medical decisions for themselves and their families.
