Jordan and Meadows Continue Oversight of Justice Department and FBI

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Jim Jordan (R-OH), Ranking Member of the Committee on Oversight and Reform, and Representative Mark Meadows (R-NC), Ranking Member of the Government Operations Subcommittee, took steps to continue their investigation of actions taken by the Department of Justice (DOJ) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in 2016.
Jordan and Meadows sent a letter to the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) Dan Coats requesting an update on the status of his classification review of 53 transcripts of witness interviews conducted by the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence during its investigation into Russia’s interference in the 2016 presidential election.
Jordan and Meadows also sent a letter to Chairman Elijah Cummings (D-MD) requesting that he invite the Department of Justice Inspector General Michael Horowitz to publicly testify before the Committee upon completion of his review of DOJ’s and FBI’s compliance with the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA), which is expected in May or June 2019.
